There has been this trend of people going from tiny niche to tiny niche in different markets. The logic being that it cuts down on competition and gives the little guy a chance to sell products and get traffic to their sales page. It sounds good, but there is a problem with doing this.

Even though there are people making quite a bit of money doing this, they really aren’t maximizing their potential, they are just scratching the surface. You see selling a product is just the first step of the process, but some people stop after the first step.

Selling a product and building a mailing list from your customers is a very powerful marketing tactic. These are by far and away the best people to have on your list. Hungry buyers that have bought from you before. You can’t effectively build a list of hungry customers, by always jumping into a new market.

What Markets to Find

Well since you aren’t going to find all of these little niches in different markets, you will need to find a bigger market. The advantages of doing this are what I stated in the Introduction about being able to build a massive, targeted list of repeat buyers.

It also allows you to become an expert in a certain market and that is important. The people that are running around from market to market are just a jack of all trades and a master of none. Not only are the quality of your products going to be better, because you know so much about the market, but you are also a lot more capable of keeping your list happy because of your knowledge.

Now, you have to find a big market, but that’s just half of the battle. You have to find a market that has a lot of different niches that you can divide the market into and then be able to break them down even further. You must also be able to find a huge market where people are willing to buy information products.
